June is the new January

June 5, 2012

What is it about January that gets us motivated? When that new year rolls around, we make big promises to ourselves. We say, this year will be different. But what does it take to finally succeed? Redemption.

We have to believe that it is never too late to renew our promises to ourselves.

To get back up, forgive ourselves, and try again.

I can’t even remember what my New Year’s resolution was this year. I don’t think I had one. But I do have big picture goals, standards for my life.  And small steps challenge me toward those standards. Life is a journey. It doesn’t end in March after your attendance at the gym has dwindled or after you have given up hope on you discipline of scripture reading. You have a lifetime of possibilities for redemption. It is never too late.

Looking for a place to renew that promise of fitness? We just started the first week of classes for the summer season. It’s never too late to join.

What was your New Year’s resolution this year? Have you given up on it? Let June be the new January.

  1. Carrots instead of candy is one I have to keep renewing. Every day we have a fresh start. If we start with God, we will have His help in our endeavors. We always need encouragement to keep trying again.
